As a Junior Data Analyst at Cognizant, you will play a crucial role in analyzing data to support business decisions and ensure data accuracy and integrity. You will work within the Clinical Data Management (CDM) and Pharmacovigilance (PV) domains, handling tasks such as data entry, coding, and generating study reports. This role requires attention to detail, proficiency in clinical processes, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
Qualifications:
To qualify for this role, you need a Graduate, Post Graduate, or Doctorate degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Medical Sciences, or be a Registered Nurse.
Responsibilities:
Business/Customer: You’ll interact minimally with customers under guidance. Understanding domain processes, sub-processes, and terms like Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Quality Control (QC) checklists is crucial. This knowledge helps ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
PV/Complaints Management: In this role, accuracy and efficiency are paramount. You’ll be responsible for entering data accurately from source documents into Clinical/Safety databases. This task requires meticulous attention to detail to meet strict turnaround times and maintain data integrity.
Coding: Efficient coding is essential for project success. You’ll handle tasks such as importing uncoded terms into databases and exporting coded medical terms from coding platforms. Managing queries and updating dictionaries to reflect new medical terms are also part of your responsibilities. Your efficiency in coding directly impacts project timelines and data accuracy.
CDM: As part of Clinical Data Management (CDM), you’ll assist in migrations, setup, and close-out activities under supervision. This includes ensuring all study-related reports are generated accurately and updated regularly. Effective communication with internal stakeholders and clients is crucial for project coordination and success.
Project/Process: You’ll encounter complex challenges in your role, which may require independent problem-solving skills or escalating issues to higher management when necessary. Your ability to process transactions accurately and within specified timelines contributes directly to project success. Proactively identifying opportunities for process improvement ensures efficiency and compliance with industry regulations.
Knowledge Management: Updating process documentation is a key responsibility. This ensures that all team members are aligned with current processes and practices. Actively participating in knowledge transfer activities helps maintain a high standard of operational knowledge within the team.
People/Team Management: Ensuring compliance with organizational standards is essential for team cohesion and performance. Monitoring team metrics and managing logistics in the absence of your supervisor demonstrates your leadership and organizational skills. These responsibilities contribute to a productive and supportive team environment.
